This spring, we participated in a competition called Mission: Small Business, sponsored by Chase and Living Social. We made the first cut, but were not among the dozen companies chosen from among more than 70,000 entries. But just going through the application process proved to be an extremely valuable experience. It forced us to be really thoughtful not just about our business, but how to communicate what we do and where we’re headed.
